My first immersion into Asia. The tropical megacity capital of Bangladesh is an assault on the senses. With a seething population of more than 15 million people, it is one of the most densely populated places on the planet. In addition to heavy industry there are thousands of hawkers, peddlers, markets, small shops and more than 300,000 cycle rickshaws, causing appalling congestion. The filthy Buriganga river flows through providing trade routes and commerce. The people are the most hospitable, beautiful and friendly I have ever met.
