eco design
When we design for you we want the biggest impact to be made on your potential customers… not the environment. We hope you agree…
Adam Constantine Design recognizes that the way we do business can have a very detrimental impact on the environment. We consume power, we use resources and emit waste by-products. We want to keep our negative environmental impact to a minimum and we like to work with people who think the same.
Our office…
As one of Shropshire’s first “carbon neutral†companies (in association with Marches Energy Agency) we aim to offset over 7500Kg of CO2 over the next year. Our state-of-the-art computer systems run cooler and hence use less power than ever before. Our award winning office is built from natural sustainable material and is fully recyclable. Every inch of the premises has been meticulously insulated ensuring that we keep energy for heating to a minimum. Every single light bulb we use is energy efficient. When we leave the office we always try to walk to visit clients or use public transport if practical.
Paper & Print…
Printing is estimated to be the UK's Fourth most polluting industry. As designers we have to take much of the blame for driving that industry. The chemical by-products of print – metal plates, waste paper, ink residue etc. need to be carefully handled. We only work with printers who take this seriously.
Not every customer wants matt-finish, off-white, “flecky†paper as part of their corporate brand. But, we pride ourselves on sourcing sophisticated, natural silk and matt finished papers. Where pure white paper is essential we make sure that only paper from “Forest Stewardship Council Certified Softwood Pulp†sources is used – whereby more trees are planted each year than are felled.
We are very pleased to have strong links with printers who will provide eco-solutions, from using 100% recycled/100% processed chlorine free paper, to using recyclable vegetable based inks, which are completely free from volatile organic compounds and hence not damaging to the ozone layer.
